The threat of something more powerful than ourselves has always been a fear in human history. So many muggles dead.Īs humans we are naturally afraid of the unknown. What sort of security could stop a wizard from boarding an airplane under poly juice, using a disorientation spell on the stewards mid-flight, stupefying/killing the pilots, and apparating out. How would muggles even be able to stop dementors? Imagine the fuckery that could occur with time turners. Consider that Pettigrew (no magical savant) managed to cut off his finger, transform into a rat and kill 7(?) muggles all in a few moments. Other wizards would need a bit of forgery, legilimancy, and luck but it's still possible. Muggleborns can gain access to cars, flights, universities, guns, computers, etc. All of the muggle world is readily accessed or has few barriers for entry. The entire train track to Hogwarts is somehow missed by Muggles. Grimmauld place and platform 9 3/4 are hidden in plain sight yet go unnoticed. Floo travel (inoperable by Muggles as it uses magic) is needed to get to the ministry of magic. A wand (held by a wizard) is needed to access diagonAlley. Almost every location in the Wizarding world requires magic to access it. Muggles are at a clear disadvantage information and infiltration-wise. Strategic locations, or even information, would be overlooked by muggles bc they physically could not notice them. Wizards would use 'notice me not' spells to hide secret bases (or themselves) in plain view. Paranoia would be at sickeningly high levels in the military and contractors. Even amateur animaguses of the common bird, rat/racoon and bug variety could be used for information gathering. The same tactics could be used to cripple plants and factories. Once locations were established, wizards would apparate in or use poly juice to gain clearance and then render equipment, arms, vehicles, etc useless. Those skilled in legilimancy would be employed to ferret out secrets on military armaments' locations. They could easily block bullets and anything larger.īut frankly if it even dissolved into war, Wizarding soldiers could cripple the enemy's armies before fighting started. Then there's Shielding spells and wards which are shown to keep out matter. Now the gas in the engine is chocolate milk.

'Oh is that a missile coming towards us?' poof. An adult trained and with a natural propensity would be able to at least lift a car. Within weeks(?) of being taught it, Ron moves from lifting a feather to lifting a large wooden club. One of the first spells taught, allows wizards to levitate objects. Magic is clearly shown to posess strong and readily available control over physical matter.
